Diane Watanabe, Administrator


Diane Watanabe is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) who has worked with the Foundation since its inception.  She received her BS in Kinesiology from UCLA and her master’s degree from Central Michigan University.  She serves as the administrator for the Foundation and coordinates the multidisciplinary soccer sports medicine program for the Santa Monica Orthopaedic FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. 

For over 20 years, Diane has worked concurrently as an athletic trainer at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California.  She serves as an athletic trainer for the US Soccer National Teams Program, medical coordinator for Chivas USA, and a medical consultant to Major League Soccer (MLS).  She was the medical administrator for the 1999 and 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in the United States and the athletic trainer for the US Women's National Team for the 1994 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland.
